At the national ASBP conference September 2007 in Las Vegas, Dr Rader was awarded the National Bariatrician of the year award. Nominated by one of his peers, Dr Rader was chosen by the awards committee for his commitment to Bariatric medicine, his service to his patients, and his service to the national society.

Dr. Swindler has also been assisting Dr. Rader seeing patients at his Idaho weight loss center in Boise this past year while her office, Medical Bariatrics of Lexington, was being built.
